First Thoughts
There is just something about pilots-- especially military pilots-- that is absolutely sexy. Am I right, ladies?
Whew, I thought Josh Walker was every woman's dream come true.. Nope! Changed my mind! Jagger Bateman surpasses him by miles!
Paisley and Jagger's story touched me. I'm not even talking about Paisley's ticking time-bomb of a heart or Jagger's family issues. I'm just talking about a sweet country girl and a swaggering flyboy who fell in love. The dialogue between the two had me nonstop sighing with bliss.
What I Enjoyed
Jagger Bateman. Pilot pilot pilot. Helicopter. Pilot. Military. Flyboy. Enough said. He almost stole my "top pilot boyfriend" spot from Miles Archer. (If Eyes Turned Skyward ever becomes a movie like Ugly Love and the actor is as hot as Nick Bateman, I may reconsider my "top pilot boyfriend" choice. *Wink.)
Paisley Donovan. Ok, I'm going to be honest and say I hated her whole "I have a heart problem, I want to do dangerous things even though I could die" mentality. What I did enjoy was her country-ness. Is that a word? Whatever. I loved how she'd say everything in a sweet, polite, country manner, but it had bite and a little bit of sass behind it.
Pilots. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love pilots. Please recommend me more pilot romances. Yum. Also, Rebecca Yarros, please write books about the secondary pilot characters that were in this book. Thank you.

TL;DR
I think I have a pilot fetish. Jagger is book boyfriend material. Paisley was a likable country girl. The heart problem and family issues annoyed me. I just wanted to read more adorable dialogue. Rebecca Yarros should write more books about military pilots.
